When I was studying civil engineering bachelor in my country, Ecuador, I remember finishing one of my classes and walking into the hallway when suddenly I saw a paper posted on the board, It is important to mention that by that time internet and web pages were in their beginnings so all the information was printed and posted on the wall boards in hallways. The paper said that there is going to be a field trip to Germany in cooperation with Dusseldorf’s University and my university, also there said that students who want to apply please sent their resumes, without hesitation I applied, I was selected, and I went to Germany with students from three different universities from my country, students from Bolivia and Colombia and the students from Germany were waiting for us. After 23
years, I can say that this student field trip was the most enriching experience that I´ve ever had.

Now, I have a similar opportunity in Denmark. It was the best technical trip I´ve ever had. I worked with students and teachers from Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, and Canada. Their knowledge and skills helped me grow as a person, student, and professional; my positive attitude contributed to this growth.

I understood what I have learned in my previous courses at NSCC construction management program related to insulation and how insulation techniques could improve energy savings. I learned the importance of studying carpentry. I had never used carpentry tools such as drills and saws. It was my first time using these tools. My classmates and teachers from Tradium College were there for helping me with everything.

From my point of view, theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical knowledge and Tradium Vocational College’s focus is to participate in projects that meet real industry needs.
